December 2007 - Transport of yachts for the Jacques Vabre sailing race
The bi-annual Jacques Vabre Trans-Atlantic sailing race is not just of interest to the yachting world, skippers & crews. It is also a logistic & operational challenge to return this high value cargo to France!
Again Trinitas was selected to transport the majority of the participating race yachts from Salvador, Bahia to Lorient, France. This year’s yacht volume demanded a split of the cargo over two separate ships resulting in the calls of the two 10.500 Metric tonnes sister vessels Mv Jade C and Mv Geja C operated by Trinitas.
Early December Mv Jade C loaded a of total of 65 "Mini Transat" yachts on her decks followed two weeks later by Mv Geja C who picked up three 19 meter long Trimarans and ten "class40" offshore racing yachts. To facilitate the clients needs both vessels made a straight call to Lorient where the yachts have been received to full satisfaction by the skippers.
Both the "Jade" and "Geja” feature heavy lift cranes and full box holds with adjustable tweens for easy handling and flexible stowage solutions. With an overall length of just over 140 meters and a max draft of 7.30 meters the vessels provide us the flexibility to meet today’s’ demand for tailor-made transport solutions.
Trinitas provides ocean transport and flexible logistic solutions within Atlantic waters for break-bulk-, specialized project- and heavy lift cargoes. Our staff in The Netherlands, Germany, Belgium and Brasil is pleased to assist you with offers and solutions.
