February 2008 - Pipe-laying equipment for Petrobras

Keppel FELS Brasil SA secured a contract with Petrobras for the repairs and upgrade of a 122-meter derrick-lay barge. The scope of work comprises detailed engineering, pre-fabrication of a heli-deck, dry-docking, special survey and the installation of six new thrusters and DP Control System. It also includes the installation of pipe-laying equipment and the upgrading of the living quarters. Upon completion scheduled for May 2008, the derrick-lay barge will be able to undertake deepwater construction support, the installation of mooring, subsea structures and pipelines.

Trinitas has been appointed to take care of the shipment of the brand new pipe-laying equipment, consisting of 10 pieces, of which 2 units of 180 mtns each.

Manufactured at SAS Gouda and delivered to Rotterdam, it has been loaded on board the MV Geja C for delivery at the Keppel FELS yard in Angra dos Reis.

Intermarine, Trinitas joint-venture partner, has been appointed to deliver the thrusters for this project ex Houston to Angra dos Reis.
