March 2009, Jade-C @ Nigg-Yard Scotland

In order to complete a contract carrying construction materials and crane parts to Brasil from Scotland our technical staff successfully investigated the possibility to load out directly from the draft limited Nigg Yard in Scotland. For the purpose of preplanning and determining if the vessel could meet the challenging draft restrictions our port Captain, Marko Habiecht, visited both the production site and port facilities prior to accepting & confirming the booking.

The whole Nigg operation was completed in 4 hours, well within the tidal window of 6 hours. The vessel berthed as close to the low tide as possible with a safe margin of 1 meter under keel clearance during berthing & un-berthing. During the loading operations the main engine was stopped but kept on standby in order to be able to leave the berth at any time. The local stevedores and welding company’s excelled in their performance enabling us to work with quite a crew in a small area. Once again the Trinitas ambition to devise smart sea-transport solution and technical knowledge resulted in a satisfied and happy customer.
