September 2009, Heavy unit for Manaus, Amazon River

The Industrial Edge loaded a 320 Metric ton MAN diesel-gas engine with her own twin 250 Mtns cranes in St Nazaire , France and transported the unit up the river Amazon all the way to Manaus. From the vessels arrival at Macapa, the first pilot station for Amazon navigation, she proceeded for a three days up river voyage to her final discharge berth but not before changing river pilot again at Itacoatiara.

The scope of this Trinitas shipment was not just the transport but included numerous extra services such as lifting-, loading- and securing- plan design. The unit was directly offloaded by her own cranes from the vessel to a river barge under supervision of our superintendent. The motor is a replacement unit for a power generation plant in the strongly developing Amazon region. Trinitas specializes in complex sea transport and caring for cargo is always our first priority; our own port captains manage loading and unloading operation even in the world’s most remote areas.
