December 2009, challenging combination
The 17.500 Metric ton Deadweight Geared Multipurpose Federal Patroller proofed to be the ideal vessel to lift a challenging combination of steel-, profile-, rail, reel, general- and project cargo. This combination of cargo is a perfect example of our strength, service and flexibility; the vessel was selected to fit the cargo needs that is we did not select the cargo to fit the vessel!

November 2009, launch of Mexilhao Jacket
The Mexilhao jacket for which Trinitas carried all the construction steels to Niteroi was launched end November. During 2007-2008, Trinitas has carried on their regular sailings, various cargo parts for this project. The challenge in these shipments were the stowage of the various sizes of steels, tubes which measured to a diameter of some 3meter. A total of about 11,300mtons of steels have been shipped.
Trinitas’ flexibility provided the best solution for the clients to ship all the construction parts in various quantities and for which Trinitas also organized the receipt and handling in the port of Antwerp through its office Trinitas Antwerp.

October 2009, More windmill equipment
Another Trinitas vessel, loads a large batch of windmill blades with Destination Europe in Santos, Brazil. This time including an under deck portion cone’s and power generating wind turbines. The turbines, 60 metric tons each, cones and blades are part of a shipment performed directly to Emden Germany.
Windmill blades are normally shipped on deck to allow for easier stowage, but in this case with a rotation demand “first in” and “last out” our engineers faced a stowage challenge. The rotation was ultimately possible because of the vessel’s box holds with adjustable tween-decks and dual 80-ton cranes.

September 2009, Heavy unit for Manaus, Amazon River
The Industrial Edge loaded a 320 Metric ton MAN diesel-gas engine with her own twin 250 Mtns cranes in St Nazaire , France and transported the unit up the river Amazon all the way to Manaus. From the vessels arrival at Macapa, the first pilot station for Amazon navigation, she proceeded for a three days up river voyage to her final discharge berth but not before changing river pilot again at Itacoatiara.
The scope of this Trinitas shipment was not just the transport but included numerous extra services such as lifting-, loading- and securing- plan design. The unit was directly offloaded by her own cranes from the vessel to a river barge under supervision of our superintendent. The motor is a replacement unit for a power generation plant in the strongly developing Amazon region. Trinitas specializes in complex sea transport and caring for cargo is always our first priority; our own port captains manage loading and unloading operation even in the world’s most remote areas.

December 2008 - Liebherr mobile port crane for Brasil
Although over the years Trinitas has moved several cranes for Liebherr the machines remain a very impressive sight. This particular LHM 500 crane was knocked down into 25 pieces with a maximum unit weight of 110 metric-tons of which 3 units were loaded on the weather-deck. The Motor vessel Geja C picked up this unit direct at the producers facility at Rostock, Germany and discharged it 20 days later on the receiving port-operators terminal. Besides our constant aim for full client satisfaction and service improvements, moving cargoes, designing and providing tailor made transport solutions for challenging projects is what we enjoy most.

March 2008 - Anchor chains, Scandinavia / South Brazil
Transporting anchor chains in over 250 meters lengths is an operational-, stowage- and handling- challenge for both our technical and nautical staff.
The crew of the Mv. Jade C. performed an excellent job handling this special cargo. Anchor chains with these lengths need to be loaded and discharged using both the vessels cranes simultaneously. A spectator on the quay side described the loading operation very accurately as a “graceful moving caterpillar”.
Both the load- and discharge operation requires superb coordination and communication between crew, stevedores and superintendent. Loading was done is close co-operation with the receivers realising the required discharge sequence avoiding further sorting efforts and expenses at destination.

The bi-annual Jacques Vabre Trans-Atlantic sailing race is not just of interest to the yachting world, skippers & crews. It is also a logistic & operational challenge to return this high value cargo to France!
Again Trinitas was selected to transport the majority of the participating race yachts from Salvador, Bahia to Lorient, France. This year’s yacht volume demanded a split of the cargo over two separate ships resulting in the calls of the two 10.500 Metric tonnes sister vessels Mv Jade C and Mv Geja C operated by Trinitas.
